The day will include 3 different hiking / work options:
1) 0.6 mile hike to the meadow outlook on Patterson Mountain and a pot-luck lunch. Meet at the Vershire Center Rd parking area (directions, see below) at 10:30am.  A relaxing family hike – please bring a pot-luck item to share.  A necessary napkins, small plates, utensils, cups, etc to be provided.

2) Leave from Taylor Valley Road at 9:00am and cover the 3.3 miles over Hawkins Mountain to reach the meadow for lunch.  Meet at the Vershire Center Rd parking area (directions, see below) at 8:30am.  We will carpool to the Taylor Valley Rd / Chelsea Rd trailhead.

3) Finally, the morning will include nearby trail clearing from Parker Rd to Vershire Center Rd.  Meet at the Vershire Center Rd parking area (directions, see below) at 8:30am.  Gloves and work clothes recommended for trail clearing and brushing.  Any volunteers with sawyer certification would be of great help with tree work for this event and all other trail work days (TBD).

Vershire Center Rd (Chamberlain Hill Rd) Trailhead. From VT Route 113 in Vershire Village, take Vershire Center Rd, follow past The Mountain School and look for the blue Cross Rivendell Trail signs where the trail crosses the road.  The parking area and information kiosk are located up the private driveway (see signs).  Please do not continue beyond parking area.
